Villagers of Sikidri write to govt demanding closure of chemical plant

Ranchi: People from different villages spread across Sikidri have approached the state government demanding that a chemical plant which was being operated in their area be closed down as the poisonous gases coming out from the factory was causing diseases like asthma, TB and infections in lungs.

In their memorandum which has been addressed to the Chief Minister through his Jansamwad programme and copies which have been given to the DC, SP and other senior officials of the departments concerned the villagers have said that the chemical factory which is situated in plot number 0245 Ms Asha Metalik Private Ltd and is run by one Neeraj Kumar since 2015 is preparing chemicals by burning old tires.

The villagers in their complaint have said that day and night old tires are burnt in that plant and the poisonous gases coming out has adversely hit.
