5 districts in Jharkhand are home to more than 50 pc cases of Coronavirus

Ranchi: Despite patients of Coronavirus detected across all the 24 districts of Jharkhand a deeper analysis will reveal that more than 50 percent cases of Coronavirus have been found in five districts of East Singhbhum, Simdega, Ranchi, Koderma and Dhanbad.

Though more than 2250 people have been also cured and discharged from various Covid-19 hospitals but as far as active patients was concerned more than 50 percent of these are present in East Singhbhum, Ranchi and Dhanbad districts with East Singhbhum having a maximum of 361 active cases, Ranchi 172 cases and Dhanbad 129 cases.

However, for the last five days more than 100 patients have been detected in the state on a daily basis due to which the meter of Covid-19 patients has rapidly shot up in the state. As a result of which all the indicators showing the performance of the state in the battle against Coronavirus have also taken a beating.

The recovery rate of Coronavirus patients which was a week earlier around 77 percent has come down to 61 percent which is less than the national average, further 7 day doubling rate in Jharkhand is more than the national average at 20.54 days while that in the state was 17.01  days. The only respite so far has been the mortality rate which was much below the national average of 2.69.

Experts are of the view that if the cases of Coronavirus continue to grow in the state at the present rate than most likely by the end of this month there would be 8000 patients of Covid-19 in Jharkhand. Experts have called to increase the tests, undertake contact tracing and ensure that norms of social distancing are strictly implemented.
