Ranchi administration shuts down 32 shops and showrooms for violation of relaxation norms

Ranchi: The Ranchi district administration on Friday closed down 32 shops in the capital which were found flouting the norms laid by the central and the state government in respect of relaxation announced in lockdown against Coronavirus.

During a probe, it emerged that these shops and establishments had violated the rules after which notice was served to them and they were made to shut shops till clarification comes from their end.

On the directions of Ranchi DC Rai Mahimpat Ray, three teams were constituted to examine as to whether the shops and the business establishments were following the guidelines of the central and state government. 

Under AC Manoj Kumar teams comprising the COs of Badgai, Sadar and Hehal were constituted in which Sadar, Kotwali and City DSPs were also included and these teams conducted checks in the capital during which it emerged that these shops and business establishments were violating the norms.

The shops which faced the action on Friday also included Tanshiq Lalpur, Kaveri Restaurant Lalpur, Bazar Kolkata, M Bazar, Mumbai Bazar, Vishal Megamart, City Style (all located on the main road) while clothes and sweet shops in Piska Mode, Ratu Road and Harmu areas were also served notice and shut down.
