2 weeks after Delhi deports Pak spies, Indian diplomatic staff goes missing in Islamabad

New Delhi/Islamabad, June 15 (IANS) Two Indian High Commission staffers in Pakistan went missing on Monday under mysterious circumstances, barely two weeks after New Delhi deported two of Pakistani diplomatic officials from the national capital after they were caught spying red-handed.

Official sources said the Indian government has taken up the matter with the concerned Pakistan authorities.

Both the Indian High Commission staffers were CISF drivers and were out on duty in Islamabad, sources said adding that they did not reach their destination and were said to be missing from 8.30 a.m.

Pakistan's spy agency ISI has been harassing and intimidating India's top diplomat in Islamabad ever since two officials of the Pakistani High Commission in New Delhi were deported for indulging in espionage activities.

The ISI has deployed several spies in cars and bikes outside the residence of India's Charge d'affaires Gaurav Ahluwalia. However, after May 31 when action was taken on two Pakistani High Commission officials who were caught spying in New Delhi, the ISI spies began chasing Ahluwalia's vehicle.

The law enforcement agencies in New Delhi had caught red-handed two Pakistani officials, Abid Hussain and Mohammad Tahir, spying on Indian Army on May 31. The duo used to meet Indian defence personnel as "businessmen" to get information for decoy news reporters. Both were declared persona non grata and expelled from India.
