Twelve workers of Bokaro killed in road accident in Auraiya: Hemant expresses grief, Babulal demands compensation of Rs 10 lakh each

Bokaro/Ranchi: At least 12 migrant labourers hailing from Pindrajora Police Station area of Bokaro were killed in an accident which took place in Auraiya of Uttar Pradesh.

The Bokaro district administration on its part has confirmed only death of 7 people in the incident who have been identified as Rahul Sahis, Rajaram Goswami, Somnath Goswami and Uttam Goswami of Gopalpur village, Doctor Mahto of Pindrajora, Kanilal Mahto and Goverdhan Kalindi of Khera Beda village.

Villagers on their part claimed that five others including Ranjan Kalindi, Umesh Kalindi, Vikas Kalindi, Yogeshwar Kalindi and Nirodh Kalindi have also died. They claimed that numbers may increase further as many others have sustained serious injuries.

Post the incident a pal of gloom has descended of Gopalpur, Khira Beda and other neighbouring villages of Pindrajora Police Station area.

Chief Minister Hemant Soren has expressed his grief over the incident. He said that he was extremely pained by the incident.

He said that all the state should share information with the other states regarding the workers who are walking in their regions towards their home. Hemant said that labourers are the main pillar of the country and their service and security is the priority for all.

Leader of the legislature wing of BJP and former Chief Minister Babulal Marandi has also expressed grief over the incident. He has expressed grief towards the families and requested the state government to take serious note of such incidents.

Mr Marandi has written a letter to Chief Minister Hemant Soren demanding that the bodies be brought back to Bokaro and demanded that a compensation of Rs 10 lakh, a house under PMAY, three months of ration be given to them.
