State BJP president demands Speaker to make Marandi Leader of Opposition

Ranchi: Citing the decision of the Election Commission State BJP president Deepak Prakash has urged Jharkhand Assembly Speaker Ravindranath Mahto to declared Babulal Marandi as leader of opposition without any delay.

He said that since the beginning itself the party had requested that the chair of the speaker should remain impartial. He said that Babulal Marandi is the leader of the legislature wing of the party and an official intimation in this regard was given to the Speaker  therefore without any delay the notification regarding his appointment as the Leader of the Opposition.

Mr Prakash said that after the merger of the JVM-P and BJP it had become clear that Mr Marandi would be the leader of the BJP legislature wing but Congress has the habit of disrespecting constitutional bodies. He said that Congress party by showing another group has tried to create an unnecessary dispute and the verdict of the election commission has made things crystal clear.
