IMA asks state government to increase Covid-19 testing

Ranchi: The state chapter of the IMA has urged the government to increase the testing of suspected Coronavirus patients and also increase the number of testing facilities in the state.

Over plasma therapy also the IMA said that it was with the state government and as per the need necessary action will be taken. However, the body said that following the directions of ICMR the cost of operations will increase by 4000-5000 while daily expenses can go up by 2000-3000.

A meeting of the IMA was held here in which the body said that no emergency patient is being returned and for common diseases facilities of E OPD was being provided. The IMA has decided that identified emergency patients will be kept in a particular area and RTPCR test will be compulsory. The test will be also compulsory for the women coming for delivery.  In the meeting, it was informed that apart from government lab facilities of RTPCR is available in three private labs and in future with Trunet test coming the cost of Coronavirus test will be cheaper.

The body has also requested the state government not to stop patients who are coming from other districts or states with doctors refer letter.

Those present in the meeting included Dr Pradeep Singh, Dr BP Kashyap, Dr Sambhu Prasad Singh, Dr Dipak Verma,  Dr Bharati Kashyap etc.
