Ranchi (By our correspondent): Jharkhand Governor Draupadi Murmu honoured 10 people who have made significant achievement in
different areas in Jharkhand.
The people who were felicitated on the occasion include Balamdina Tirkey (Pashu Sakhi), Dr Sureshwar
Pandey for medical treatment, Dr Giridhar Ram Gaunjhu from Khunti for tribal and regional language. Kedia Brothers from Giridih
for Sarod and Sitar (musical instrument) playing, Birsa Munda from Khunti for Progressive Farming. Pan IIT Alumni Reach for Jharkhand Foundation, Ranchi for Skill Development, Amitabh Mukherjee for the sculpture, Gumla rural poultry independent co-operative society, Gumla, for women’s self-reliance, Madhumita Kumari from Silli, Ranchi for archery and Miss Nikki Pradhan from Khunti for Hockey. As Nikki was outside the state the award was collected by her mother.
As part of the felicitation, these people were given a shawl, a memento (sculpture of Bhagwan Birsa Munda) and a cheque worth Rs 1 lakh.
