CM asks people to protect themselves from Malaria

Ranchi: On the occasion of the World Malaria day Chief Minister Hemant Soren has urged the people to protect themselves from Malaria.

He said that by making efforts the people can play their roles in malaria control management programme and can also protect the future. He has urged the people that incase of fever they should immediately contact the nearest health care centre and get their blood samples tested.

The Chief Minister said that the test and treatment facilities for Malaria is available across primary healthcare facilities and sub healthcare facilities across the state while people can also ring up at 104 for health related queries.

Some of the symptoms of Malaria included fever with shivering, vomiting, body pain, dizziness etc. For protecting against Malaria people needed to adopt simple measures including use of mosquito nets while sleeping, not allowing water accumulation near homes. Spraying insecticides, kerosene oil or burnt mobil on large water logging areas. Further it is advised to keep water tanks and other water containers closed and people should not keep such items on the terrace on which water can accumulate while once in a week water of fridge, cooler and  flower pots should be cleaned.
