Government working to ensure no one sleeps empty stomach in state

Ranchi: In order to ensure that no one in the state goes hungry, the Jharkhand government is working to provide food and food grains to the people under various schemes during lockdown.

The Food, Public Distribution and Consumer Affairs Department is providing ration and food to the people under various schemes. According to the data received by the department, food grains have been delivered to 1,86,913 people also, food grains have been provided to 2,54,673 people under the non PDS.

About 2,26,783 migrant labourers are being fed in various relief camps set up by the government. On the other hand, 40,48,901 people have been fed by various NGOs and volunteers at various places in the state. Emergency relief packets are also being distributed among the needy

A State Level Corona Control Room (SLCCR) has been set up by the State government and a 24X7 toll free number 181 has been issued so that the people can contact for any kind of assistance and queries regarding Corona Virus (Covid-19). So far 23,361 cases were forwarded to the concerned districts and departments for action. Out of which, assistance has been provided in 17,667 cases. Every possible actions are being taken on the remaining matters. In the Corona control room, 12,062 complaints related to food supply, 1,064 related to law and order, 1,191 related to medical, 1,250 related to persons stranded in Jharkhand and 2,100 other complaints have been resolved.

The state government is providing all possible assistance to the people of Jharkhand stranded in other states and union territories. As of now, the Department of Labor, Planning and Training has received 32,353 calls in which 9,40,811 people have been reported stranded outside the state. Out of which, 6,33,648 migrant labourers have been reported stranded at 13,914 places. As of now, the government has made arrangements for food and lodging of 4,94,841 workers stranded at 13,360 places.  More information is being gathered so that necessary support could be made available.

The social security department of the state government is working to provide pension to the beneficiaries for the month of March and April. Pension has been provided to every pensioner for the month of March, whereas 18,46,025 people have already been provided pension for the month of April.
