Ramgarh: In a major fire that took place at the daily market located in the middle of the town nearly 70 shops were gutted resulting in losses worth nearly Rs 80 lakhs.
CEO of Ramgarh Cantonment Area Sapan Kumar said that around 4.30 pm he got information regarding the fire incident after which he alerted the Ramgarh police and fire brigade. He said that more than 5 dozen shops have been destroyed in the incident.
In the wake of the lockdown all the shops in the market were closed and before the small shop keepers could reach their shops along with the goods and items kept inside were gutted. The shop keepers have alleged that as part of a conspiracy their shops had been set on fire and held the CEO responsible for the incident.
Upon receiving information Ramgarh MLA Mamta Devi also reached on the spot and interacted with the shop keepers and said that the entire matter will be probed and action will be taken against the culprits if deliberately fire had been set up.
