Alleged hunger death in Gola of Ramgarh

Ramgarh: An old woman allegedly died due to hunger at Sangrampur village under the Gola Police station area of this district.

However local BDO who visited the spot claimed that there was sufficient food grains in the house therefore it would be early to arrive on the conclusion of hunger death. The deceased woman has been identified as Upasi Devi (72).

Her husband had died three years ago and last time the woman had taken the ration on her card was in May 2017 as after that her ration card had been canceled.

Ramgarh MLA Mamta Devi who also visited the spot said that the death of the woman is a matter of probe and said that the postmortem report will bring out the truth.

As far as the villagers are concerned some of them said that she died of hunger while others claimed that she was ill for the last 15-20 days. The son and other relatives of the woman have claimed that she died due to hunger.
