Ranchi (By our correspondent): On the second day of the four-day long Chhath Mahaparv devotees performed Kharna which would be followed by offering arghya to the setting sun on Tuesday. On Monday ‘kharna’ was performed where devotes will prepare ‘kheer’ which would be offered to the god and distributed among friends, family members and acquaintances.
On Tuesday the people will reach to the nearby ghats where they will offer ‘arghya’ to the setting sun and on Wednesday the festival will come to an end after again arghya being offered to the rising sun. Meanwhile, as part of preparations for the festival, the RMC has completed the cleaning of all the ponds falling within its jurisdiction while work was on war footing to clean the roads and pathways leading to the water bodies while work was also on erect danger zone signage.
To prevent any untoward incident at the Chhath Ghats teams of the NDRF have also been posted at Bada Talaab, Line Pond, Chadri, Dhurwa Dam and Kanke Dam with boats.
