Ranchi (By our correspondent): Former Jharkhand Chief Minister Babulal Marandi while on one hand welcomed the foundation
laying of the cancer hospital which would be constructed by the Tata Group, on the other hand, he asked the state government to come out in open regarding dealings between the two side over the project.

Addressing a press conference at the party headquarters here Mr Marandi said that if the two sides execute everything in a transparent manner than nobody should have any objections but the government should tell as to whether they or the Tata Group would bear the cost of construction of the cancer hospital and also sought details whether people will be treated free of cost or would have to pay money.

Pointing his rationale behind raising the questions Mr. Marandi said that on August 19, 2005 the TISCO area lease was renewed for a period of with effect from January 1, 1996 as part of which many agreements were inked between the two sides under which TISCO had to pay Rs 150 crore for building the complex and infrastructure for the National Games but the company paid just Rs 50 crore similarly it was supposed to annual every year Rs 25 crore as a premium for health insurance of BPL families which from 1996 to 2018 comes to Rs 575 crore but the company has only paid Rs 75 crore which means the overall liability for TISCO is Rs 600 crore.

Mr Marandi said that the state government should tell whether or not it has entered into some kind of secret agreement with the company so that the company can be allowed to construct the hospital in lieu of the pending payment.
