Ranchi (By our correspondent): Chief Minister Raghubar Das on Sunday inaugurated the Surya Mandir which has been constructed at Argora Pond. Addressing the people who had gathered on the occasion he said that in the next one year the Argora Pond would be developed as the model pond in the state.
He said that with the help of Hatia MLA Naveen Jaiswal and RMC the pond would be renovated and at all the four corners ghats would be created so that the devotees do not face any trouble while performing Chhath. He said that during the Mahaparv of Chhath lakhs of devotees gather at the water bodies of the state, therefore, the state government has commenced the renovation of all the ponds and other water bodies. He extended his greetings to the people on the occasion and prayed for the welfare of the people. Prior a puja was also performed with full rituals during which Hatia MLA Naveen Jaiswal, Deputy Mayor Sanjeev Vijayvargyee and others were present.
The Surya Mandir at the ponds has been built by the artists of Odisha over a period of 18 months and has incurred a cost of Rs 11 lakh which has been contributed by the locals of the area themselves.
