Ranchi: State General Secretary of the Jharkhand BJP Deepak Prakash has been appointed as the new state unit chief of the party.
A letter in this regard was issued by national general secretary of the party Arun Singh. Deepak Prakash will replace Laxman Giluwa who had resigned from his post following the debacle in Vidhan Sabha elections. Deepak Prakash for the last 30 years has been associated with the BJP.
He had started his career during the days of ABVP and was appointed as chairman of Jharkhand State Mineral Development Corporation when the separate state of Jharkhand was carved out.
When Babulal Marandi left BJP and formed his JVM-P he too joined him only to return back to the BJP in a very short span of time. After Laxman Giluwa took over as state president Deepak Prakash was appointed as state general secretary of the state unit.
A post-graduate in Political Science Deepak Prakash has served the party in varied roles including those of state secretary, state vice president and member core committee. Meanwhile, former Chief Minister Raghubar Das has congratulated Mr Prakash for his appointment on the post.
He said that Deepak Prakash has a long experience of working in organisation and hoped that under him the state will scale new heights of development. Leader of Legislature Wing of BJP Babulal Marandi has also extended his best wishes to Mr Prakash on his appointment.
