CBI investigation gathers pace in Bakoria Encounter

Daltonganj: The Central Bureau of Investigation has increased the pace of investigation in the Bakoria encounter as part of which a 10 member team of the investigating agency led by an SP ranked officer was camping in the district and was questioning the officials and the jawans who were involved in the encounter.

So far the team has questioned 250 people which includes officials and even drivers. Officials of the CBI said that the team of 10 personnel has been divided into two parts for conducting the probe. The team is likely to stay in the city for another 10 days and has converted the circuit house to its camp office.

The then officer-in-charge of Satbarwa OP Mohammed Rustam who had registered the fir in the case has now turned into a government witness. Rustam has allegedly told the CBI that he had not registered the fir but was was rather forced to sign on an already written FIR.

On June 9, 2015 in an encounter between police and maoists it was claimed that 12 hardcore ultras were killed however the deceased included dreaded maoist commander Anurag alias doctor, four minors, para teacher Uday Yadav etc.

The father of para teacher Uday Yadav had approached the Jharkhand High Court following which on November 19, 2018 the CBI registered an fir.
