Health Minister chairs meeting with all civil surgeons of state

Ranchi: Health Minister Banna Gupta chaired a meeting with all the civil surgeons of the state during which he asked them not to give a bribe or accept bribes as strict action will be taken in the cases of corruption.

He said that if the doctor who is posted in one district and is found doing practice in another district than the civil surgeon will be held responsible and they should keep an eye on such matter or they themselves will have to face action. The minister assured that such officials who will be performing better will be awarded.

Gupta said that the Health Department was an important department of the state and despite lack of resources the department was committed to providing the best health care facilities to the people.  He asked the civil surgeons to prepare their work plan within 15 days and submit a detail to the department regarding the need of human resources and other basic infrastructure.

He asked them to accord a special focus towards preventing women's diseases and their treatment and also come out with a plan to counter malnutrition. Principal Secretary of Health Department Nitin Madan Kulkarni was also present on the occasion.
