Daltonganj: DC Shantanu Kumar Agrahari felicitated the farmers who had returned after a visit to Israel.
In a function held at the Collectorate here, Dr. Agrahari felicitated farmers Kapildeo Thakur of Nawa-Jaipur and Dhrup Narayan Singh of Lesligunj. Speaking on the occasion the DC asked them to encourage their co-farmers to adopt modern techniques of agriculture.
He said that during their visit to the country the farmers learned about new methods of agriculture, how to grow more crops in less rainfall etc. Dr. Agrhari said that now these farmers would be educating them on how to produce more in less investment.
One of the farmers while recalling his experience said that in Israel organic fertilizers is used in large numbers and also special impetus is given on environment protection. He said that apart from adopting the modern techniques himself he would be also educating the fellow farmers.
