5 Can Bombs, arms and ammunition recovered in Palamu

Daltonganj: In a joint operation conducted by the 134th battalion of the CRPF and district police from a cave located in Majuraha forest located under Pipra Police Station area of the Palamu district huge cache of arms and ammunition and IEDs were recovered.

The items which have been seized from the spot included 5 IEDs, 4 country-made guns, 40 cartridges of AK-47 and other items. Later a bomb disposal squad was called on the spot which defused the bombs in the forest itself.

Police sources said that the security personnel had received a tip-off that maoists were present in Siriniya forest who were planning to execute a big incident following which the joint team swung into action and conducted the search operation.

During the search, the items which were kept hidden in a cave were recovered. CRPF had also pressed in its sniffer dogs in the search operations.
