Saraikela-Kharsawan: A team of the district police has arrested an arms supplier along with three maoists sympathisers from Sarmali village under the Saraikela Police Station area of this district and recovered 200 live cartridges for them which was meant to be supplied to maoists commander Maharaj Pramanik.
Saraikela SP Karthik S said that he had received a tip-off regarding the arms supplier who was supposed to supply arms and ammunition to close associates of the maoist commander following which he constituted a special team led by SDPO and comprising police personnel from Saraikela and Kharsawan Police Stations.
The team conducted a raid in Sarmali village and arrested the four people who were involved in the supply of ammunition, the SP said adding that the arrested have confessed that on previous occasions also they have supplied arms and ammunition along with other items to the maoists.
The arrested have been identified as Sagar Mahto, Jagdish Mahto, Abhishek Kumar Sinha (arms supplier) and Mugalal Mahto.
From the arrested 100 cartridges of .315 bore and 100 cartridges of 7.65 bore along with naxal literature, pamphlets, two motorcycles and four mobile phones have been seized.
