Scams worth Rs 5000 crore in departments held by Raghubar alleges Marandi

Ranchi (By our correspondent): Former Jharkhand Chief Minister and JVM(P) supremo Babulal Marandi alleged that in the last four years of rule of Chief Minister Raghubar Das only development of scams has taken place in the state and said that a scam worth more than Rs 5000 crore have taken in the departments which are being held by Mr Das itself.

Addressing a press conference at his residence here today he said that while on one hand, the Chief Minister talks about zero tolerance on corruption on the other hand layer by layer the scams in the departments which are held by him are being unearthed. He said that his party can not allow the loot of the money of the people of Jharkhand and slowly would bring before each and every scam done by the state government. Pointing to the irregularities in the construction of the new high court building, he said that all levels have crossed in corruption in this work and pointed out that in the probe committee the secretary of the building construction has also been included and wondered how the officer can against himself speak in the probe.

He pointed out that the tender was awarded at Rs 264 crore but suddenly its cost of construction was increased to Rs 697 crore. Mr Marandi said that the entire matter was before the Chief Minister as the department is also under him. He said that after the matter blew out of proportion the state government has decided to conduct a probe by the engineers and asked how the corrupt engineers will do a right probe and said demanded that the entire matter be probed by the CBO or other independent agency and monitored by the Chief Justice or by the high court.
