People shut shops to participate in VHP called public meeting in support of CAA

Chatra: A big public meeting was organised in the support of the CAA at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in the district headquarters here.

National vice president of VHP Jaggannath Sahi said that the opposition parties from behind are supporting the anti CAA demonstrations in the country however the conspiracy of these vested elements who want to destroy the country will not be allowed by the people to succeed.

He said that CAA has been formed to give the citizenship to the minorities of Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan and is not aimed at taking away the citizenship of any other person.

The public meeting was also addressed by the leaders of the BJP and those belonging to the ABVP. Such was the support of the people for the event that in many blocks they had shut their shops to participate in the event.
