Training workshop of newly elected MLAs of Jharkhand Assembly on Feb 11-12

Ranchi: A two-day training workshop will be organised for the newly-elected MLAs of the Jharkhand Assembly on February 11 and 12 at the project building here.

In this training programme the MLAs will learn about the functioning of the legislature. They will also be told about parliamentary privileges, how to raise issues related to the people, different types of committees of the Vidhan Sabha and challenges before the legislature.

Assembly Speaker Ravindranath Mahto said that constitution expert cum former general secretary of Lok Sabha GC Malhotra, former Additional Secretary of Rajya Sabha NK Singh and renowned research scholar in legislative works Chachu Rai have agreed to come while Deputy Chairman of Rajya Sabha Harivansh will also deliver a lecture in the program which will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Hemant Soren.

The Speaker asked the newly-elected MLAs to take advantage of the training programme. He said that Mr Harivansh will deliver his lecture on February 12. He said that works was on to organise the budget session in the new assembly building however any decision in this regard will be taken after going through all the other aspects.

Senior journalist Satish Verma was battling cancer for the last few months and passed away in RIMS on Friday. On the other hand a couple of minutes of silence was also observed at the BJP headquarters here as part of respect to
late scribe.

Organisation general secretary Dharampal Singh along with party spokesperson Pratul Shahdeo, Deendayal Barnwal , media in charge Shivpujan Pathak etc expressed their grief on the passing of Verma.
