Ranchi (By our correspondent): Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das said that poverty from the prosperous state has to be removed and through Gram Chaupals the thoughts of the people will be channelized into a positive direction as it was important to change with the changing times or else people would lag behind.
Participating in the Gram Chupal organized at Silgai in Chanho he said that with the change in thought the state will change and asked the youth to take responsibility to give a new direction to their villages and asked them to draw inspiration from the life of Veer Budhu Bhagat. He said that the awareness of the people can make their areas clean healthy, alcohol-free and a model village. The Chief Minister said that after Independence none of the government worried about the people who laid down their lives for the cause of the nation and no one remembered those martyrs but the present government has taken a pledge to develop the villages of the martyrs and said that he was proud to have visited the village of Veer Budhu Bhagat and as part of making it a model village the drinking water supply schemes has been inaugurated.
He said that a sum of Rs 49.30 crore will be spent to make the village a model one. Mr Das said that on the initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi the old jail premises is being renovated at a cost of Rs 100 crore and a statue of Bhagwan Birsa Munda would be set up apart from that information regarding the martyrs who laid down their lives for the cause of the nation would also be told to the people so that the future generations can draw inspirations from them and contribute to making the state.
Mr Das said that to make every home in the state educated not only the village of Veer Budhu Bhagat but in the entire state on November 15, appointment letters will be distributed to 10,000 teachers so that the children can get a quality education. He said that
efforts are being also made so that children can get milk in the schools which will help to fight against malnutrition.
The Chief Minister said that the women power would be further empowered and said that in the coming days the woman would be manufacturing school dress and people in the villages can not implement schemes worth Rs 5 lakh. He asked the mukhiyas to spend the funds of the 14th finance commission for the development of basic infrastructure in the villages. He asked the mukhiya of the village to hold a meeting with the villagers and decide on the schemes.
He said that despite 70 years of Independence of the nation no arrangements for power requirements of the state was done and where there was a need of 118 grids only 38 grids were constructed and the present government was building 80 grids and substations as by 2019 power would be provided for 24 hours to all. He said that in Jharkhand three districts have been made completely electrified.
Earlier Mr Das garlanded the statue of Veer Budhu Bhagat in the village during which Mandar MLA Gangotri Kujur, Ranchi DC, SSP and others were present.
