Guruji asks Jharkhandis to keep bow and arrow with them as part of their identity

Dumka: JMM supremo and former Chief Minister Shibu Soren has called upon the ‘Jharkhandis’ to keep a bow and arrow with them as part of their identity and also for security.

Addressing the Santhal Pargana level meeting of the party workers Guruji said that like the Sikhs who wear Turbans as part of their religious believes and keep a ‘Kripan’ which is a symbol of Sikhism, therefore, the people of Jharkhand as per their tradition to should keep bow and arrow with them as not only they will be able to maintain their identity but also protect themselves from enemies.

He said that bow and arrow is the identity of the people of the region moreover it is also not heavy to carry therefore people should not have any problem to keep it. He pointed out that by folding hands in front of enemy people will not be able to protect themselves but if they have bow and arrow than they will be able to defend themselves.

He said that it was due to the Jharkhand Adolan that police atrocities and terror of money lenders was removed from the area and called upon the party workers to make the new generation aware of the traditions and policies of the JMM. In an emotional message to the people he asked them to continue turning up in large numbers on the occasion of Jharkhand Diwas function which is celebrated on February 2 in Dumka and February 4 in Dhanbad whether he lives or not.

On the other hand, senior party leader and former deputy chief minister Stephen Marandi said that it was due to a long struggle undertaken under Guruji that the separate state of Jharkhand was carved out. He said that after two decades of state formation the people have given a clear mandate to the JMM and asked the party workers not to get carried away and work with dedication to build the Jharkhand of dreams of the people.

Those who also spoke on the occasion included party’s Rajmahal MP Vijay Hansda, party MLAs Haji Hussain Ansari, Lobin Hembrom and Nalin Soren. Those who were also present on the occasion included party general secretary Viajy Kumar Singh and Yuwa Morcha president Basant Soren.
