Daltonganj: A student of class 10th was run over by a speeding truck at Bairiya under Daltonganj Town Police Station area of the Palamau district.
The deceased has been identified as Vidyasagar Kumar a resident of Patan Police Station area. The child was returning from his tuition class back to the residential school when he was hit by the speeding truck. In a serious condition, the student
was admitted at Sadar Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
Post the incident the family members and the students blocked the traffic on the NH-98. Upon receiving information Palamu SP Inderjeet Mahtha reached the spot and somehow managed to convince the people to call off the agitation and assured that the kin would be provided adequate compensation. Due to the road blockade, dozens of vehicles were stranded on the NH giving a tough time to the commuters.
