Daltonganj (RP Service): As part of the preparations for the Global Agriculture and Food Summit 2018 a one day workshop was organized here in which members hailing from progressive farmers, industrialists, SHGs and chamber of commerce participated.

The workshop was inaugurated by Zilla Parishad chairperson Prabha Devi. Speaking on the occasion she said that India was an agriculture-based land where 70 percent of the people were dependent on agriculture for their living. She said that various schemes are being run by the central government for the welfare of the farmers. She said that if the farmers are interested to make progress in their area than they should remain in regular touch with the agriculture department and urged the farmers to also opt for alternative farming owing to the unpredictability of the monsoon.

DRDA director Haider Ali asked the farmers to keep themselves aware of the modern techniques of farming. District agriculture officer Zubair Aalam and others were also present on the occasion.
