Hemant files complaint against Raghubar for using casteist words

Dumka: Leader of Opposition and JMM’s acting president Hemant Soren has filed a complaint at the SC/ST Police Station here against Chief Minister Raghubar Das accusing him of making casteist remarks and has demanded necessary legal action against him.

SDPO Pujya Prakash said that the former Chief Minister has filed a complaint that will be probed further. The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha has also registered his complaint with the election commission in this regard and demanded that a case of violation of model code of conduct be registered against the Chief Minister.

Later talking to the press Hemant said that Mr Das in his election rally in Mihijam of Jamtara had made casteist remarks and used foul language against him after which he had filed his written complaint on the issue stating that he was hurt by his comments. He said that his honour has been hit due to the use of the words.

Mr Soren said that the incident has been carried in the newspaper and video footage is also doing rounds and asked as to whether he had committed a crime by having born in a tribal community. He alleged that on many previous occasions also Mr Das had used foul language not only inside assembly but also in his meetings in Santhal Pargana which was indeed unfortunate.

He said that the conduct of the Chief Minister was such that all have been hurt but he did not expect him to go so low due to which he has been forced to approach law. Hemant said that he was on the post of Leader of Opposition not due to the Chief Minister but due to the support of the people. He said that the words reflect the real thoughts of Mr Das for the tribal community and was an expression of his anger and hatred towards the poor.

On the other hand state, BJP spokesperson Pratul Shahdeo said that in the entire country JMM and their leader Hemant Soren was at the receiving end for accusing saffron-clad men of doing rape. He said that to divert the anger of the people against him he was resorting to such tactics. Pratul said that Hemant is aware of the fact that he will lose from both Dumka and Barhet, therefore, he was making baseless allegations to divert the attention of the people.
