Neelkanth Singh Munda reviews functioning of Rural Development Dept

Ranchi (By our correspondent): Rural Development Minister Neelkanth Singh Munda has directed the officials of his department to
regularly visit the villages to check the ground realities and ensure execution of schemes on the time. Chairing a review meeting over the functioning of the department he said that if needed information should be also collected from the beneficiaries and a
meeting with them should also be held.

Reviewing the progress of PMAY he said that DDCs should establish contact with the people and asked to hold meetings with the BDOs so that schemes can be completed on time and said that those BDOs who would be negligent in their work they would face action. Under PMAY in Jharkhand against a target of 528729 homes just 273747 homes have been built which was just above 50 per cent. 

The minister directed that Pakur, Palamu and Koderma which are not able to perform better in those areas meeting should be held and the target is achieved. On the formation of the Sakhi Mandals he said that all the DDCs should collect information about the works being done by them and also help in solving the problems.
