Giridih: In a joint operation by the district police and CRPF personnel a hardcore ultra of the CPI (Maoists) who was wanted in about a dozen cases was arrested from Pirtand Police Station area of this district.
Giridih SP Surendra Kumar Jha told newsmen here the arrested Maoist has been identified as Charka Manjhi who was wanted in a total of 11 incidents executed by the Maoists in Parasnath Hills and its adjoining areas. Three foreign made pistols and nine live cartridges have been recovered from him the SP said.
The SP said that Manjhi was key accused who was involved in attacking the escort party of a treasury van in the year 2010 in which five guards of a private security company were killed.
