Farmer delegation from Jharkhand learn best practices in agriculture & allied sectors in Israel

Ranchi (By our correspondent): A high-level delegation led by Mukesh Kumar (IAS), DC – Dumka and Shashi Ranjan (IAS), DC – Gumla, comprising of 21 farmers and 6 officials is visiting Tel Aviv to understand the usage of latest technology and proven best practices in agriculture and allied sector.

This is the second delegation from the Government of Jharkhand visiting Israel. A similar delegation of 32 delegates comprising 26 farmers and 6 Government Officials visited Israel in August 2018, the result of the last visit was very encouraging. The visit would help Jharkhand’s farmers learn by witnessing on the ground implementation of technologies in the agriculture and allied sectors and will also give them confidence that such practices are replicable and implementable in Jharkhand.

On Day 1 of the visit, the delegation began in the morning with a visit to Kibutz Magal facilities of Netafim with Protected Agriculture
Demonstration Park to understand the advance drip irrigation solutions and a wide variety of structures and crops demonstrated
at the park. Netafim is an Israeli manufacturer of irrigation equipment. The company produces drippers, dripperlines, sprinklers
and micro-emitters. It also manufactures and distributes crop management technologies, including monitoring and control systems, dosing systems, and crop management software.
