Unidentified criminals open indiscriminate firing on villagers in Panki

Daltonganj: Unidentified armed miscreants opened random shooting on villagers of Dhawadih under Lesligunj Police Station area
of the Palamu district, however, no casualty was reported in the incident.

Police sources said that late Sunday night the villagers were holding a meeting in the village to discuss the expenditure on Durga Puja when suddenly a group of criminals reached on the spot and started looking for one Laxman Yadav. As panic spread among the villagers they started running following which the criminals opened fire. Later as the villagers gathered in numbers and started cornering the criminals they fled from the spot.

Upon receiving information in the night itself police teams from Lesligunj and Satbarwa reached on the spot and conducted search operations. On Monday morning the villagers registered an FIR in this connection at Lesligunj Police Station. However, no Maoist outfit has so far claimed responsibility for the attack.
