Dumka (RP Service): Three people including a mother and her son lost their lives while a girl sustained injuries as a couple of two-wheelers were hit by a speeding truck at Simtulli village on the Dumka-Rampurhaat main road under Shikaripara Police Station area of this district.
The injured girl has been admitted to Sadar Hospital for treatment. Police sources said that a couple of scooty riders were going towards Dumka when a speeding truck on its way to Rampurheet hit both the vehicles in which one Vasant Kumar Manjhi
(40) a resident of Mohalpahadi was killed on the spot. On the other hand, Pattamuni Tudu (35) of Palsa village who was going to drop their kids to their hostel in Dumka along with her son Edwin Marandi died on the spot while the girl Louis Marandi (12) sustained injuries.
Post the incident the truck driver managed to flee leaving his vehicle behind. Police later sent all the bodies for post-mortem to Sadar Hospital.
