Maximum use of technology should be made to improve the system: Chief Secretary

Ranchi: Chief Secretary DK Tiwari said that due to the use of information technology progress is being made in all the areas and even the government was trying to make the best use of it.

Reviewing the functioning of the IT department he said that there was a need to increase the use of IT in government schemes in a planned manner. He also directed the department to improve its working as part of which JAP-IT and its affiliate units should be upgraded in the next three months.

Mr Tiwari said with the use of IT coordination should be established with the departments for executions of the schemes and said that through space application one can get exact details related to presence of water above and under the ground for construction of various projects whereas through satellite mapping one can know the exact ground conditions which will help in doing survey settlement without any flaws.

He directed the Jharkhand space application center to establish coordination and collect information related to irrigation, forest, drinking water etc and said that for the execution of schemes approval will only be given after the presence of needed land.

He also directed to make transparent financial management through the use of IT and said that e-vigilance system should be improved so that the tax system can be made leakproof. He said that unnecessary bank accounts should be closed and more transactions should be made online.

The Chief Secretary suggested improving the working of the departments' real-time data feed system should be developed for schemes of all the departments which will help prevent delay and on one click people will have information related to the schemes.
