Villagers block traffic on Ranchi- Gumla road as miscreants gun down peon in Gumla

Gumla (RP Service): Unidentified bike-borne miscreants shot dead a youth at Lanji area under Sadar Police Station area of this district following which angry villagers today blocked traffic movement on the Ranchi-Gumla road demanding compensation for the family.

The deceased has been identified as Rajkumar Sahu (22). Police said that Rajkumar around midnight had gone out of his home when he shot by three bike-borne miscreants. The villagers had rushed the youth to RIMS Ranchi where he died. A villager said that the youth used to work as a peon in a local private school and was the only child in the family looking after his disabled parents.

The locals are demanding a compensation of Rs 5 lakh and immediate arrest of the culprits. Meanwhile, a team of the administration led by the DSP was holding dialogue with the villagers to call off their agitation.
