Ranchi: The festival of Bhai Dooj was celebrated with traditional fervor and gaiety in the state during which the sisters prayed for the well being and good health of their brothers.
Chief Minister Raghubar Das also extended his greetings to the people of the state on the occasion of Bhai Dooj.
Mr Das tool to twitter to extend his best wishes for the festival. Even Union Minister Arjun Munda and Koderma MP Annapurna Devi took to Twitter to extend their wishes to the people on the occasion.
In this festival, the sisters perform special Puja for the long life of their brothers and it is believed that on this day even Lord Yamraj does not reject the prayers of the sisters for their brothers.
According to a city priest, the best time for performing the Puja on this festival was in the morning from 6.22 am to 10.17 am while it was also performed between 11.15 am to 12.17 pm and from 3.24 pm to 4.56 pm.
