JVM(P) in favour of alliance not against it: Marandi

Gumla: Former Jharkhand Chief Minister and JVM(P) supremo Babulal Marandi said that his party was not against coalition but was rather in its favour however for that to happen all the parties needed to sit together and talk.

Addressing a press conference at the circuit house here he said that Chief Minister Raghubar Das is claiming to bag more than 65 seats in the assembly elections while his party, on the other hand, was asking people to send BJP out of Jharkhand as in a democracy it is the people who call the shots. He said that his party was raising the issue of poverty, unemployment and hunger deaths and is asking for a mandate in favour of the party.

Mr Marandi said that under the tenure of the double engine government the condition of the state has turned into worst, farmers were committing suicide and people were dying in hunger but the state government has turned a blind eye on these problems. He said that the present state government is negligent towards agriculture and has not provided proper irrigation facilities.
