CS directs to identify raw materials area wise and link them with small & cottage industries

Ranchi (By our Correspondent): Chief Secretary Sudhir Tripathi chaired the seventh working committee meet of the Small and cottage
industries board in which he asked to identify the presence of raw materials area wise and link them with the sector. Stressing on the need of marketing of the small and cottage industries goods he directed to study the work of better performing states Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh in the area forest produce and whichever is better the same should be replicated in the state.

He directed since the presence of lac, bamboo, and mahua was in abundance in the state their focus should be on the products made by these as a big market of products of these items was left to be tapped. He said that the ready to eat items in the Anganwadi centers should also be local and pointed that keeping in mind the ups and downs of the lac market long-term strategy should be formed while better plans needed to be framed for storage and distribution of the products to be made by tamarind and asked to take the help of such organisations which are interested to perform better in the area. Apart from that, the performance of other forest produce which has been linked with cottage and small-scale industries was also reviewed.

The Chief Secretary also stressed on the need to train and encourage the district entrepreneurs and entrepreneur coordinators. Apart from that decision which was taken on the previous meeting was taken for review. Mr Triptahi also directed to establish coordination with the forest department for execution of the Van-Dhan Yojana. Those present on the occasion included Industries Secretary Vinay Choubey etc.
