JIASOWA Diwali Mela from October 25 to 29

Ranchi (By our Correspondent): The highly awaited Diwali Mela organised by the Jharkhand IAS Wives Association will be held from October 25-29 at the Morabadi grounds of the state capital. Addressing a press conference here Secretary of JIASOWA Richa Sancheti said that in this five-day long mela focus would be on swadeshi garments tribals cuisine and stalls showcasing swadeshi art forms.

On the occasion, the poster for the Diwali Mela was also launched. Ms Sancheti said that the main purpose of organising the event was to encourage women entrepreneurs and rural artisans. She said that this year participants from Gujarat, Rajasthan, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal and Jharkhand will be participating in the event. He said that the oldest Kathputali dance form of Chadar Badoni will also be showed in the event in which there will be also an attraction for children and adults as adventure games will also be organised.

She said that renowned artists from the country would be giving a cultural performance during the evening where dance forms of Jhumar Chhau will also be staged. She said that this time around 200 stalls have been put up at the venue where a mobile ATM will also be positioned along with stalls of Aadhar Voter Id Divyang certificate eye and health check-up.

Ms Sancheti said that the organisation was committed for the development of the society and has done many positive works in the far off areas especially for providing quality education in the far flung areas. She said that the organisation has also adopted a couple of anganwadi kendras in Madhukam and Argora while in the tribal areas three libraries for students preparing for competition titled The Wing has been set up including two in Khunti and one in Ranchi.
