Gumla: A local court in this district has awarded life imprisonment to four accused held guilty of gang rape and have been also awarded a fine of Rs 30,000 each.
The court of Additional District and Sessions Judge Lolark Dubey awarded the punishment to Imil Karletta, Maling Gyan Barla, Edmond Karketta and Xavier Toppo.
The incident had occurred on March 12, 2016, when the victim was returning from a home of her relative than the accused had forcibly stopped the vehicle in which she was traveling and after making her get down they had gang-raped her.
Somehow she managed to flee from the clutches of the culprits and hide inside a home after which police had rescued her and taken back to her home.
The girl said that a day earlier to the incident one of the accused had tried to harass her and when she had protested he had warned her to teach a lesson.
