Gumla: An area commander of the PLFI along with his associate has been arrested from the Jorag forest located under Gumla police station area of this district.
From the arrested couple of Desi kattas, 6 cartridges of 8 mm,5 mobile phones, 6 SIM cards three letter pads of PLFI and a backpack have been recovered.
Police said that it had received a tip off regarding the movement of the ultras in Jorag forest after which a team was formed which conducted raids. As soon as the team reached the forest couple of men started running who were later chased and caught.
Later one among them was identified as PLFI area commander Neelkanth Sahu while another was active Ultra Anil Oraon. Police said after Gajju Gope was killed in an encounter with the police the PLFI was working to further expand its influence on the ordering areas of Gumla and Ranchi districts, therefore, they had recently appointed Neelkanth as the area commander who was tasked with the responsibility of increasing the activities of the outfit collecting levy and executing some big incidents in the region.
