Guv asks people to take advantage of government schemes

Dumka: Governor Draupadi Mumru said that the state government was running many schemes for the development and progress of the people of the state of which they should take advantage.

She was addressing a function organized at the Indoor Stadium here as part of her four-day visit to the Santhal Pargana division during which she distributed deeds and assets among the beneficiaries of the various schemes including Ayushman Bharat Yojana Mukhyamantri Kanyadaan Yojana, Sukanya Yojana, Ujjwala Yojana, PMAY, Birsa Aawas Yojana, etc.

Those who were also present on the occasion included Welfare Minister Louis Marandi, Dumka DC Rajeshwari B and other officials of the district administration.

Adding further the governor said that from the health point of view Ayushman Bharat is a very important scheme of the government so that the poor can get better health care facilities and similarly the Matri Vandana Yojana is also being run for the women, for providing homes PMAY and Birsa Aawas Yojana are being executed and prevent the women hailing from the poor community to prepare their food on coal or wood Ujjwal Yojana has been started by the government which is having a positive impact on their health.

She said that it was former Prime Minister Bharat Ratna late Atal Bihari Vajpayee who had started the Self Help Groups for women empowerment. She asked the women to send their children to school and said that people should not discriminate among boys and girls.

She said that when the people are strong than the society will be empowered which will further strengthen the state. The governor also called upon the people to extend their cooperation in the development schemes and hoped that the various schemes will be able to bring a change in the lives of the people. 

Welfare Minister Louis Marandi said that the state government was running many schemes for the well being of the people of which they should take advantage as the government was committed to ensuring that development reaches to the last person in the society.
