Ranchi (By our Correspondent): A student of the Saint Xavier's College lost his life as he fell while taking a selfie at the Getalsud Dam located under Sikidri Police Station area of this district. The deceased has been identified as Aashirwad Ranjan (18) who was a resident of Shantinagar Bhuyiaan Toli of Namkum and was a student of B Sc Honors first year of the college. Later the body of the boy was sent for post-mortem to RIMS.
Police sources said that Aashirwad along with his girlfriend had come for sightseeing at the dam. As the couple moved towards the corner of a damaged building located on the bank of the dam the boy lost his footing while trying to take a selfie as a result of which he was drowned.
