Lathicharge on ‘Rasoiyas’ going for CM residence gherao

Ranchi (By our Correspondent): Police resorted to lathi-charge on women ‘rasoiyas’ who were on their way to gherao the residence of the Chief Minister in the state capital here demanding the status of fourth-grade employees similar to what is provided by the Tamil Nadu Government.

Under the banner of Jharkhand Rasoiya Sangh, the women in support of their various demands including the status of a fourth-grade employee have been staging a demonstration near the Raj Bhawan since September 25. However, until now none of the government officials have tried to speak with them. Miffed over the apathy of the government these women were on their way to gherao the residence of the Chief Minister when they were stopped by the police. As the women failed to give up the police resorted to lathi-charge to disperse the women in which couple of them were injured. On the other hand, the president of the state rasoiya sangh Ajit Prajapati has said that since the honorarium of the rasoiyas was not fixed therefore they were facing economic difficulties. He said that post the decision of school mergers their situation has turned far worse and unless their demands are met the agitation would continue
