CM inaugurates Shravani Mela at Basukinath, lays foundation for projects worth Rs 40.56 crore

Dumka: Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das said that with the blessings of Lord Shiva in the last four and half years Jharkhand was rapidly making development and on the occasion of the inauguration of the Shravani Mela he has prayed to him that hopes and aspirations of the people are fulfilled. 

Addressing the people after inaugurating the Shravani Mela in Basukinath Dham he said that by organizing events like Mela the dream of having a ‘Shresth Bharat’ can be realized and welcomed the devotees to Basukinath Dham. The Chief Minister said that the state government was working for the beautification of the tourism spots of Santhal Pargana and Airport and AIIMS was being constructed in Deoghar while Rs 20 crore Prasad Yojana will also be given to Dumka. He said steps for the beautification of Shivganga has been initiated and soon it would be renovated and as part of boosting tourism in the area it has been decided to develop Tarapith- Mayurakshi BasukinathDham-Deoghar as a tourism circuit.

Mr Das said that work needed to be done so that the Shravani Mela in Dumka and Deoghar makes name for cleanliness among the people and said that keeping the religious spots clean is not only the responsibility of the state government but should be done by all and asked the shopkeepers to co-operate in this regard or else punishment would be imposed on them and said that they should understand that when the devotees come to this place then they should appreciate the cleanliness facilities.

The Chief Minister said that under the scheme of the central and state government among 35,000 farmers Rs 5000 crore would be distributed. He said that under the Mukhyamantri Krishi Ashirwad Yojana in two installments money would be paid to the farmers and said that the first installment would be paid in the month of August and second during the time of Durga Puja so that it can help the farmers in their agriculture needs. He said that it was a positive sign that Smart Agro Farms have been started is Dumka where farmers can learn the details of multi crop farming and it will also help to check rural migration.

The Chief Minister said that some people are trying to mislead the farmers over the money being paid to them under Pradhan Mantri Krishi Samman Nidhi Yojana and directed the SPs and the DCs to identify such elements in Santhal Pargana and send these anti development elements to jail as they do not want changes in the life of the farmers and said that those who are trying to spread such rumours they should note that for creating obstacles in government work they would be sent to jail.

He said that making changes in the lives of the poor people of Santhal Pargana is a priority for the state government and highlighted that the culture of the area was its identity however some external forces were trying to destroy the culture and now it is the responsibility of the people of Santhal Pargana to protect their culture and especially the educated youth of the area should come forward in this regard. The Chief Minister also distributed deeds and assets among the beneficiaries of the various government schemes and also distributed appointment letters.

Those present on the occasion also included women and child development Minister Louis Marandi Tourism Minister Amar Kumar Bauri, Labour Minister Raj Paliwar, Agriculture Minister Randhir Singh and senior officials of the state government.
