Democracy is alive due to villages says: Raghubar

Ranchi: Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das said that a sum of Rs 5000 crore will directly go in the accounts of 35 lakh farmers in the state for which the task of registration of farmers should be completed by August 25. Chairing a high-level review meeting with the DCs and DDCs of the state he said all efforts should be made so that farmers are able to get the maximum benefits of the Pradhanmantri Kissan Samman Nidhi Yojana.

He said that as part of a conspiracy vested elements who are misleading the farmers they are anti-farmers and Anti National and these elements should be identified and directly sent to jail. In the meeting, it was pointed that in some districts the farmers are being misled with the rumours that their lands would be taken if they avail the benefits of Mukhyamantri Krishi Ashirwad Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Krishi Samman Nidhi Yojana.

On this, the Chief Minister said that while on one hand, the government was extending all possible help to the farmers, on the other hand, anti-national forces were misleading them which will not be allowed and asked the officials to create awareness among the farmers and assure them that their land cannot be taken.

Mr Das said that the work of putting up of street lights in the construction of the village of roads through Paver blocks and supply of drinking water through pipelines using solar power in the village at any cost should be completed by September 30th. He said that all the schemes which are passed by the gram sabha should be implemented and those who create any obstacles strict action should be taken against them and moreover, it would be also written in the CR of the Block Development Officer.

He directed to send the requisition of the panchayat regarding street lights on time. He said that all should be covered under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna whether they live in the rural or urban areas and it should be insured that in the homes which are being constructed they should be provided LPG connections under Ujjwala Yojana and should also be equipped with toilet and power facility.

He said that those beneficiaries whose homes are ending their construction work they should be given the last installment of funds and also pointed that the pace with which the beneficiaries were being given the benefits of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna similar work should be maintained in Ambedkar Awas Yojana and Birsa Awas Yojana.

The Chief Minister directed the officials to take the recommendation of the works within a week to be executed from the MP and MLA fund and directed that a sum of Rs 50 lakh should we spend from the MLA fund for providing drinking water facilities in the dalit and tribal villages.

Mr Das said that for the empowerment of the woman in every panchayat formation of a Sakhi Mandal is a must and it should be completed by September 30th and these Sakhi Mandals should be linked with the ready-to-eat scheme. He asked the DCs to ensure that women healing from very poor families who do not have a proper source of income should be made part of the Sakhi mandals so that they can stand on their feets and said that in every Sakhi Mandal there should be five such women who are living below the poverty line.

He said that the Sakhi mandals would be given the responsibility to distribute the food grains in the primitive tribes' villages under the Dakiya Yojana.

The Chief Minister said that water conservation was the need of the time and therefore in the entire state awareness programs are being conducted for water conservation so that people can take steps to preserve the rainwater. Mr Das said that trench cum bund scheme has become a medium of water conservation and directed the DCs to visit any village one day in a week to create awareness among the people for water conservation as through peoples participation it can be made into a peoples movement.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister reviewed the works being executed under the Revenue and Land Reforms Department, Labour Department, Transport Department, Rural Development Panchayati Raj, Rural Works Department, Agriculture Department and Power Department.

Those who are also present in the meeting included Chief Secretary DK Tiwari Additional Additional Chief Secretaries Sukhdeo Singh and K K Khandelwal, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Sunil Kumar Barnwal, Cabinet Secretary Ajay Kumar Singh, Principal Secretaries and Secretaries of all the departments and DCs and DDCs of all the divisions except Santhal Pargana.
