Pakur: Police has arrested two men who were involved in the illegal trade of brown sugar from Nalpokhar village under Town Police Station area of this district.
Briefing the press Pakur SP Rajeev Ranjan said following a tip-off a special investigation team led by SDPO Ashok Kumar Singh was formed which conducted raids in the village and arrested the two men identified as Aman Ansari and Kasim Miyan while two of their other associates managed to flee.
He said that from the arrested Rs 3,700 in cash and nine sachets of brown sugar was seized. The SP said that many others are also involved in this illegal business and trade was being conducted to nab them.
The police official said that brown sugar was being supplied from West Bengal.
