Daltonganj: A person lost his life while four others were seriously injured as a bus on its way to Medninagar from Ranchi came in contact with a high tension wire at Thumbagada under Satbarwa Police Station area of the Palamu district.
Occupants of the bus said that few people were traveling on the rooftop of the bus. As soon as it reached Thumbgada out of a sudden couple of more vehicles came face to face due to which the bus driver tried to take out his bus from the side of the road during which the people sitting on top came into contact with high tension wire.
As soon as the five men came in contact with the high tension wire they fell on the ground after which they were rushed to a nearby hospital where one of them identified as Shital Ram died. After admitting the injured to the hospital the bus driver managed to flee from the spot along with the vehicle.
A police team later reached the spot and inquired into the incident. The body was also sent for post-mortem to Sadar Hospital.
