Chatra: A speeding truck rammed into a house at Khapiya village on the NH-99 under Simaria Police Station area of this district in which a youth died and an elderly couple were injured.
The deceased has been identified as Sandeep Ram (30) while in the injured Sewa Ram and his wife Etwaria Devi have been admitted at Simaria Referral Hospital. Miffed over the incident the locals blocked traffic movement on the NH however they called off their agitation post intervention of police and payment of compensation.
Police said that the coal-laden truck was going to Toril railway siding from Amrapali coal mines when it hit the youth who was collecting water from the handpump and rammed inside the house. The body was later sent for post-mortem to Sadar Hospital.
